Chicken Pulao Recipe | Simple Chicken Pulao

Whenever I'm not in a mood of preparing the elaborate biryani and yet want to have it, I just end up making this combination of rice and chicken. It tastes great and I promise that it is way easier to prepare, as you can see it below.....
Chicken Pulao

Ingredients:
Chicken - 1/2 kg
Rice - 1/2 k, washed and soaked for 30 minutes
Onion - 1 medium, finely sliced
Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp 
Cloves - 3 
Cardamoms - 3 
Peppercorns - 5-7
Cinnamon stick - 1 
Bay leaf - 2  
Green chillies - 4, slit lengthwise
Tomatoes - 2, roughly chopped
Salt - a bit on the higher side as rice will absorb it
Coriander leaves - 1/2 cup
Oil/Ghee
Water - 2 times rice

Method:
In a pot in which rice is to be cooked, heat oil/ghee and saute the chicken pieces till it turns light brown. Remove

Add cloves, cardamom, peppercorns, cinnamon stick and bay leaf

Add onions and saute till soft

Add ginger garlic paste and saute till raw smell leaves

Add the chicken pieces, green chillies and tomatoes and cook till tomatoes are soft

Add water and salt and cook till all water dries up stirring occasionally

Add in the coriander leaves and mix and cook till rice is done

Serve!!!
